After sessions: 10pm-12am
After sessions are over we will have a social hour with board games and other activities.
Imam Kemal Cecunjanin was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to immigrant parents from Plav, Montenegro. In 1999, at age 19, he performed the Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, the holiest city for Muslims. He then dedicated 10 years to studying the Arabic language and traditional Islam with prominent scholars in Yemen, Jordan, and Syria. In 2016, Kemal entered Yale University as an Eli Whitney Scholar, where he completed his BA in Near Eastern Languages.
Imam Kemal currently serves as the Muslim Chaplain at Fairfield University. He is Imam of the Monroe (Conn.) Masjid, where he is also a lecturer for the Islamic Community of Fairfield County. Kemal teaches Arabic and Islamic Studies at the M.E.C.C.A. Center in New York City and is a frequent guest lecturer throughout New York and Connecticut on topics relating to Islamic ethics and culture
